Minister addresses 2017 Christmas Reception

12 December 2017

On Tuesday 12 December Steve Brine MP, the new Health Minister responsible for dentistry, addressed MPs, Lords, dentists and oral health stakeholders at the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Dentistry and Oral Health’s Christmas reception. In his opening speech, the Minister assured the guests of his to dedication to improving oral health outcomes for all and his commitment to delivering dental contract reform in England. BDA Chair Mick Armstrong thanked the assembled Parliamentarians for their ongoing support in raising the profile of dentistry in Parliament and called on the Government to work with the profession to deliver better outcomes for patients and better working terms for those providing dental care.

The reception, sponsored jointly by the BDA and BDIA, was very well attended, with representatives of all major oral health organisations, dental press, senior civil servants and Parliamentarians coming along to talk about oral health issues – and enjoy Christmas stockings full of ‘smile-friendly’ gifts.
